Course Overview
This one-day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course is designed for UK workplaces that require a designated first aider, as identified in a first aid needs assessment. It meets the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and equips learners with the knowledge and practical skills to respond confidently to workplace emergencies.
On completion, participants will be qualified to act as a designated Emergency First Aider within their workplace.

Minimum age: 14 years for training; 16 years+ to act as a workplace first aider (employer approval required).

Certification
Successful learners will receive the FAA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) – valid for 3 years.
We also recommend attending an Annual Refresher Course to keep your skills current.

Course Content
You’ll learn how to:
- Assess incidents and manage the scene
- Respond to an unresponsive casualty (including CPR and recovery position)
- Use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
- Control bleeding and treat wounds
- Handle choking, shock, burns, epilepsy and minor injuries
- Understand your role and responsibilities as a first aider
- Apply basic hygiene and infection control in first aid

Physical Requirements
