• Businesses needing to meet the minimum statutory first aid requirements
• Anyone seeking essential, life-saving first aid knowledge

Minimum age: 14 years for training; 16 years+ to act as a workplace first aider (employer approval required).

6 hours of guided learning (typically completed in one full day)

Courses delivered at community venues or on-site at your workplace.

Certification

Successful learners will receive the FAA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) – valid for 3 years.
We also recommend attending an Annual Refresher Course to keep your skills current.

• Delivered in Penzance and surrounding areas, or on-site for businesses and groups
• Maximum of 12 learners per course

Course Content

You’ll learn how to:

• Assess incidents and manage the scene
• Respond to an unresponsive casualty (including CPR and recovery position)
• Use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
• Control bleeding and treat wounds
• Handle choking, shock, burns, epilepsy and minor injuries
• Understand your role and responsibilities as a first aider
• Apply basic hygiene and infection control in first aid

Physical Requirements

Learners must be able to get to the floor unaided and perform CPR on a manikin at floor level. Please contact us before booking if you have any concerns about the practical elements of the course.
