Our FAA Level 3 Award in Basic Life Support and AED is ideal for anyone who may need to respond in an emergency — whether at work, in the community, or in a voluntary role. This regulated qualification gives you the skills, knowledge, and confidence to act quickly and effectively when someone is in cardiac arrest.
With automated external defibrillators (AEDs) now widely available in workplaces and public areas, knowing how to use one alongside CPR can dramatically improve survival rates.
This course is delivered in line with Resuscitation Council UK Guidelines and awarded by First Aid Awards (FAA), a nationally regulated awarding organisation.

Minimum age: 14 years (You must be 16+ to act as a workplace first aider).
What You’ll Learn
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Assess an emergency situation safely
- Conduct a scene survey and a primary survey
- Summon appropriate help
- Provide CPR and use an AED
- Recognise when CPR is needed
- Perform CPR on an adult manikin
- Use an AED confidently and safely
- Place an unresponsive breathing casualty into the recovery position
- Maintain open airways and monitor breathing

Physical Requirements
