Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work

Who Should Attend?

This course is ideal for:

• Workplace first aiders requiring a higher level of training
• Staff in higher-risk environments (construction, manufacturing, etc.)
• Anyone wanting a thorough, hands-on first aid qualification

Learners must be 14+ years old. To take on a first aid role at work, they must be 16 or over and considered suitable by their employer.

Duration

• 18 guided learning hours, typically delivered over 3 consecutive days
• Flexible options available

What You’ll Learn

The course covers both Emergency First Aid and the Recognition and Management of Illness and Injury. Topics include:

• Legal responsibilities of a first aider
• Primary and secondary assessments
• CPR and safe AED use
• Managing an unresponsive casualty
• Choking, bleeding, burns, shock, and poisoning
• Fractures, sprains, and spinal injuries
• Heart attacks, stroke, epilepsy, diabetes, asthma
• Eye, chest, and head injuries
• Bandaging and infection control

Certification

Successful candidates will be awarded the FAA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work, valid for 3 years.
Assessment is practical throughout the course, with a short written component on the final day.

Group Size

• Maximum 12 learners per course
• Delivered in Penzance and surrounding areas, or on-site for businesses and groups

Physical Requirements

Learners must be able to get to the floor unaided and perform CPR on a manikin at floor level. Please contact us before booking if you have any concerns about the practical elements of the course.
